Recognizing Psychic Powers
Recognizing psychic powers is not difficult if one knows what to look for and if one is open minded enough not to relegate such findings to mere coincidence. We are all psychic but in the modern age these abilities are relegated to being superstitious and unreliable. In ages past, tribal man depended on his psychic powers; the shamans helped with the hunt, healed injuries, conducted rituals designed to placate the spirits to bring fortune and divined knowledge that helped the tribe survive. It is fortunate, however, that such abilities are coming back into mainstream awareness slowly but surely, making the task of recognizing psychic powers and much easier affair.

Psychic powers are most easily recognizable in young children. It seems that we are born with an awareness of the subtle realms, an awareness that we lose as we get older and the more concrete reality of 'normal' life is drummed into us. Parents, teachers, religious leaders, all have a hand in dimming the light of our latent psychic talents, however, they are still there. One of the most common instances of such a link to the psychic world is the invisible friend that young children often have. In tribal cultures, it was not uncommon for spirits, fairies and other beings to make themselves known to any who could see them. Could it not be possible that even in the modern age these beings still wish to be recognized and have knowledge or insight to share with us? Children seem to be more accepting of the psychic world, playing in it as easily as they play in the garden.

In recognizing psychic powers, intuition plays an important part. Observing people and their reactions is key to noting who may be psychic and in turn helping one to develop their own senses. Do coworkers seem to always be in the right place at the right time, getting that promotion and other benefits so easily? For the psychic, whether conscious or not of their abilities, there is a sort of flow throughout life as they follow their hunches, not second guessing themselves. Practicing psychics also tend to have a somewhat dreamlike quality to them. Since they literally have a foot in both worlds, they may seem to sometimes walking with their head in the clouds but they are far from oblivious. If they do have their head in the clouds it's so they can get a better view!

The above is also a good method of recognizing psychic powers within yourself. If life seems to flow with little effort on your part, then on some level your intuition is working well and you are trusting it. That gives a good opportunity to test it, develop it, and then expand on the potentials. These abilities can be accessed by all of us with practice and in recognizing psychic powers, one Is recognizing their own ability to engage in the adventure of exploring the psychic realms.
